About the Film

A chance meeting reunites Joe and Mary, childhood sweethearts from the 1940s. But after 60 years apart, is there still love between them? How have their separate experiences shaped their lives over this long period apart, and is there still time for them to share the happiness that has so long been denied?
BAFTA-winning actors Virginia McKenna and Keith Michell star in this moving love story of life and death. Diana Quick plays Angela, who guides Mary through this emotional period, with the help of Geoffrey Whitehead and Patricia Brake. Up and coming actors Roger Ringrose and Vanessa Kirby provide the contrast to the aging couple, and Geoffrey Bayldon guests as Joe’s old friend Alfie.
But all is not as it first appears; the story of Joe and Mary’s reunion is not so simple. The gentle narrative hides a twist, that will have viewers rethinking their assumptions of love and loss.
With three weddings, two funerals and plenty of dancing, “Love/Loss” is a thoughtful and romantic film for all ages, that will have you smiling and crying.
The 90-minute film is written and directed by documentary film maker Guy Daniels, and shot by BAFTA-considered DoP Mark Moreve. Filmed exclusively on location in and around the village of Knebworth in Hertfordshire.
Filming is scheduled to commence on Sunday 9th August, for two weeks until Saturday 22nd August. All filming will occur within a one-mile radius of the village of Knebworth, Hertfordshire. Post-Production is scheduled to last seven weeks.
